British Brexit Committee will see impact of Tory-DUP border – Brady

7 December, 2017 - by Mickey Brady

Sinn Féin MP Mickey Brady has said the British Brexit Committee, meeting in Armagh City on Thursday

, cannot fail to hear the negative impact a DUP-Tory Brexit border will have on citizens in the area.

The Newry Armagh MP said:
“Today as British MPs from several parties visit Armagh city and sites along the border, it will be clear to them just how disastrous a British Brexit border will be to communities, families, businesses, citizens and their rights and livelihoods.

“Sinn Féin has made the case for Designated Special Status for the north within the EU.

“This is a common sense solution that will keep the north within the Single Market and Customs Union, while providing certainty to citizens, safeguarding the Good Friday Agreement and citizens’ rights, and preventing severe economic disruption.”
