‘Concern over winter health pressures’ - Sheehan

21 December, 2017 - by Pat Sheehan

Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Pat Sheehan has raised concern over pressures on Emergency Departments over the Christmas period.

The West Belfast MLA commented: "I raised concerns regarding increased pressures on the health system over Christmas and the broader winter period in a meeting with the Permanent Secretary for Health on Monday.

"It is important the additional £7 million for winter pressures and Trust preparation plans are in place to deal with an increased demand, particularly in Emergency Departments, across the north.

"The Health and Social Care staff who deliver services under these challenging circumstances, particularly those who will be providing care over the holidays, are to be highly commended.

"Staff are the HSC's greatest asset and deserve our gratitude."
