Labour has long abandoned working class voters - Gerry Adams TD

21 January, 2018 - by Gerry Adams TD

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has responded to comments made by the Labour leader Brendan Howlin on RTÉ's This Week this afternoon:

Teachta Adams said:

"Having long abandoned working class voters, I listened with some astonishment to the Labour leader Brendan Howlin making reference to the voting intentions of the 'working class' on RTÉ this afternoon.

“The Labour party spent five years in government implementing cuts and policies which devastated working class communities.

"One thing's certain - Sinn Féin don't need any tips from the Brendan Howlin on representing working class voters". ENDS
