Be part of building a new Ireland

Sinn Féin committed to delivering rights for all - Murphy

24 January, 2018 - by Conor Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said the party’s focus in talks remains on achieving the implementation of previous agreements and ending the denial of rights to citizens.

The Newry and Armagh MLA said:

“Today we had a meeting with the British and Irish governments and the DUP. We also had a series of bilaterals. We will be meeting with the DUP again tomorrow.

“We’ve listened to and read what the DUP have said in relation to these talks and look forward to seeing that approach tomorrow.

“Throughout the course to the day Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O’Neill held several meetings with representatives of the sectors whose rights are being denied and whose rights we are trying to promote, defend and secure.

“We have said clearly that the outcome of the talks must secure the implementation what was previously agreed, secure rights for people who are being denied them, and to get the institutions back working on genuine power sharing.”
