Sinn Féin will continue to stand with Loughinisland families - Hazzard

26 January, 2018 - by Chris Hazzard

Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard has said that Justice McCloskey has made the right decision to withdraw from the legal challenge to the Police Ombudsman’s findings of British state collusion in the Loughinisland Massacre.

Chris Hazzard MP said:

“The decision of Justice McCloskey to withdraw from the legal challenge against the Ombudsman report into Loughinisland collusion is the right one and has been welcomed by the families of the victims and their legal representatives.

“The report by the Police Ombudsman that collusion was a major factor in the loyalist murder of six men at Loughinisland in 1994 was an important milestone in the families campaign for truth and justice.

“In this context, today's decision is a welcome development.

“Sinn Féin will continue to stand with the families in their decades long campaign for truth and justice.”
