Sinn Féin meet with NSPCC

6 February, 2018 - by Catherine Kelly

Sinn Féin’s children and young people spokesperson Catherine Kelly met with the NSPCC in Omagh today to discuss steps needed to safeguard children and young people.

The West Tyrone MLA said:

“Today myself and party colleagues met with the NSPCC to discuss measures of safeguarding our children and young people.

“We spoke about the issues of physical punishment and legal reform to remove the defence of reasonable chastisement, as well as the abuse of trust in sport and leisure settings and the need to develop vetting arrangements in the north.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work with the NSPCC on these issues and any other matters that arise.”
