Anderson raises Tony Taylor case with European Human Rights Commissioner

9 February, 2018 - by Martina Anderson MEP

Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has raised the case of imprisoned Derry man, Tony Taylor, with the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muiznieks.

Martina Anderson said:

"I raised the case of imprisoned Derry man Tony Taylor with the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks, when I met with him in Strasbourg this week.

"Tony Taylor's continued imprisonment is an affront to due process and he should be released immediately.

"I was pleased that Nils Muiznieks has agreed to look into Tony Taylor's case.

"Tony Taylor has now spent more than 700 days in prison and it is long past the time that he should be released."
