Archibald welcomes industrial action commitment
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed the confirmation from Queen's University that it has put measures in place to reduce the impact of recent industrial action on students.
The Party's Further and Higher Education Spokesperson said, "Sinn Féin supported the industrial action taken by staff to defend their pension conditions and acknowledge their efforts to minimise disruption to students.
"I wrote to the Vice Chancellor to ask that the university ensures that students did not suffer from the disruption to their studies.
"He has written to me to confirm that measures have been put in place such as the consideration of deadline extensions and efforts to ensure that material not taught due to the strike action will not be part of assessments.
"The university also indicated it will engage with the Student's Union and UCU on additional initiatives including on promoting student well-being and mental health."
