Murphy condemns North Belfast burglary

14 September, 2018

Sinn Féin Councillor Ryan Murphy has condemned a burglary in North Belfast last night.

Cllr Murphy was speaking after three masked men armed with hammers forced their way into a home in Mill Valley before stealing money and a car.

Councillor Murphy said:

“I condemn this attack which saw money and a car taken from a property in Mill Valley after which the car was found burnt out in the Ardoyne area.

“Mill Valley is a fairly quiet place and residents are shocked this has happened.

“Over the past couple of months there has been a number of car crimes and burglaries

in the upper North Belfast area and I would urge the public to be vigilant at this time and to take necessary steps at the end of the day to ensure their homes are secure.

“There is currently a police investigation ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it forward to the PSNI.”
