Progress on e-safety strategy welcome - Archibald
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has said progress on the e-safety strategy is welcome and a step forward in protecting children and young people online.
Speaking following today's roundtable discussion, the East Derry MLA said:
"Today's discussion was positive with cross-party consensus on the need to progress the e-safety strategy which has been developed in partnership with key partners and stakeholders.
"The e-safety strategy is an important tool in safeguarding children and young people in an increasingly digital world.
"The strategy will improve control of access to harmful content and support children and young people, along with parents and teachers, to utilise online material in a safe and responsible way, and to ensure there is support available when things go wrong.
“It is hoped the strategy will be consulted on in the near future to allow all stakeholders to put forward their views.”
