'Vital pupils and staff receive support following fatal shooting' - Maskey

5 December, 2018 - by Paul Maskey

Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey has welcomed news that the Education Authority has met with the four school principals in West Belfast and put in place a critical incident plan to support the schools affected by yesterday’s fatal shooting of Jim Donegan on the Glen Road.

The West Belfast MP said:

“I spoke with the Education Authority and welcome the fact they have put a critical incident plan in place to support the schools affected by yesterday’s fatal shooting of Jim Donegan.

“This will include making counselling and support services available in the short term and long term as it is vital that school pupils and teachers receive the appropriate help at this time.

“I will continue to work with the schools and the Education Authority to ensure all students and staff receive the support required in the aftermath of this horrific incident.”
