DUP reckless approach bringing no-deal Brexit calamity ever-closer - Ó Muilleoir

7 December, 2018 - by Máirtín Ó Muilleoir

Speaking after a briefing at Stormont House by NIO officials on a no-deal Brexit, Sinn Féin MLA Máirtín Ó Muilleoir said:

“While details of the British Government briefing today on a crash out Brexit are confidential, I can say that the impacts on jobs, investment, electricity price and supply, medicine provision and trade are truly frightening.

“The DUP must explain why people here including the most vulnerable should suffer electricity price increases, increased tension on the streets, transport disruption, an end to CAP payments, medicine shortages and much more just to suit their party’s narrow agenda.

“The majority who voted to Remain plus the trade unions, farmers, voluntary sector and business organisations all demand that the DUP turn away from its reckless approach which is bringing a no-deal Brexit calamity ever-closer."
