Sinn Féin Tops the Poll
Sinn Féin tops the poll with 25.5% of the vote. In the second election running Sinn Féin has secured the highest number of votes of any party in the Six Counties. The party returned it's five sitting MPs – Gerry Adams for West Belfast, Conor Murphy (Newry & Armagh), Michelle Gildernew (Fermanagh/South Tryone), Martin McGuinness (Mid-Ulster) and Pat Doherty (West Tyrone). The breakdown of results in each of these constituencies is as follows.
