Cavan/Monaghan - Caoimhghín Ó CAOLÁIN TD

Caoimhghin O Caolain GE2011CAOIMHGHÍN Ó CAOLÁIN is a native of Monaghan town and is married to Briege. They have five children.

Caoimhghín has represented Cavan and Monaghan as a Dáil Deputy since 1997. As Teachta Dála and Sinn Féin Dáil leader he is widely regarded as one of the most effective voices in the Dáil and one of the hardest working of TDs.

On our health services, in particular, Caoimhghín is widely recognised as an informed and committed activist, presenting a real alternative to the failed policy and management of the Government and the Health Service Executive. He has been to the forefront in the demand for the restoration and development of services at Monaghan General Hospital.

Going into this General Election Caoimhghín is standing on a proud record of delivering for this constituency and providing political leadership across the island of Ireland. Since the re establishment of a ‘technical group’ in the Dáil recently Caoimhghín has been the most effective opposition spokesperson to challenge the government in relation to government failures.

Iarraimíd oraibh tacú le Caoimhghín san olltoghchán seo. Mar ionadaí tofa le 26 bliain anuas tá an taithí aige. Mar poblachtánach agus mar Gaeilgeoir tá sé dílis do aisling an Phiarsaigh: “Éire ní hamháin saor ach Gaelach chomh maith.”
