Ó Caolain responds to Lenihan attack on finance policy

Responding to an attack on his party's finance policies from Brian Lenihan today Sinn Féin Dáil leader Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin has said his party's policy is the only one that protects the Irish people from the massive debt of the banks while also protecting low and average income earners from cutbacks and extra taxes.

Deputy Ó Caoláin said:

“We have had much scare mongering this week from all the other parties about Sinn Féin's finance policy but the fact is that our policy is the only one that protects the Irish people from the massive debt of the banks while also protecting low and average income earners from cutbacks and extra taxes.

“No amount of misleading statements from the Minister can change that.

"My colleague, Sinn Fein Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty, has challenged the Minister and the spokespersons from the other parties to a public debate on the economy during the election campaign.

“We believe this would be an important aspect of the election campaign and we await a response from the other parties.” ENDS
