Adams to address Sinn Féin’s annual Slógadh
West Belfast MLA Pat Sheehan has welcomed the announcement that Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams will address the party’s annual event Slógadh Shinn Féin to be held in Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich this Saturday (9 Dec, 10am-4pm).
Speaking prior to the event Mr Sheehan said,
“It is perhaps fitting that this year Slógadh Shinn Féin returns to the 6 counties and to Belfast after a year of significant activism and campaigning for language rights and for Acht Gaeilge.
“It is also fitting that Uachtarán Shinn Féin Gerry Adams TD will deliver the keynote address.”
“We will also have a number of interesting speakers to address this year’s theme ‘Saol trí Ghaeilge’ – including: Tony Devlin, Rossa Ó Snodaigh, Roy Garland, Ursula Ní Shabhaois, Paula Melvin and Conchúr Ó Muadaigh.
“There is an open invitation to anyone to attend this event where we will discuss Acht Gaeilge, and language rights; as well as the positive role Irish speakers and the Irish language have in our society.
“All language abilities are welcome."
