Ennis welcomes trad awards decision

Sinn Féin’s spokesperson for Culture, Arts and Sport Sinead Ennis MLA has welcomed the decision to hold the Gradam Ceoil Traditional Music Awards in Belfast until 2021. 

“It is a testament to the city, that Belfast has been chosen to host the prestigious ceremony,” Sinead Ennis commented.

“This decision reflects the strength and diversity traditional music across the city.   The awards will undoubtedly attract visitors and raise the profile of traditional music in Belfast and beyond.

“Belfast thrives on traditional music with live venues across the city.  The decision to locate the Gradam Ceoil awards in Belfast until 2021 sends a clear message that Belfast is synonymous with trad music and the event will undoubtedly be a huge success.”
