McCallion calls for joint approach from job creation bodies

7 February, 2018 - by Elisha McCallion

Sinn Féin MP Elisha McCallion has called for a joint approach from bodies tasked with job creation to assist strategic growth in the north west.

The Foyle MP said:

"At present there are four bodies tasked with assisting and promoting job creation in the wider north west region city region; Invest NI, Enterprise Ireland, the IDA and Údarás na Gaeltachta.

"While these organisations are working independently at present, it would make more sense for them to adopt a joint working approach which would see them collaborating with a specific focus on cross-border strategic growth across Derry, Donegal and the wider north west.

"My party colleague and Donegal TD, Pearse Doherty, and I are calling for a meeting with all four bodies to discuss a joint collaborative approach to job creation.

"Such an approach, together with the focus that I and others are putting on the need for strategic growth would help the north west city region achieve its potential."
