Anderson brands Attack on Sinn Féin Constituency Office 'anti-Community'
Sinn Féin Foyle MLA, Martina Anderson commenting on the petrol bomb attack on the Derry Sinn Féin Constituency Office said that it will not prevent Sinn Féin activists and elected representatives from delivering a first class constituency service to the community.
Ms Anderson said:
"I fail to understand the mentality of anyone who believes that a fire bomb attack on a political Party's Constituency Office that is there to serve and facilitate the entire community serves any purpose.
"Who ever was responsible for this attack should realise that they will not prevent Sinn Féin activists and elected representatives from delivering a first class constituency service to the community. Our offices are located within a community development project in the Ráth Mór Business Park. As such we, along with all of the other tenants contribute through our rents to further investment in community development.
"Those involved in such attacks should also recognise the possible repercussions of these mindless acts. If the fire had taken hold it would have necessitated attendance by the fire service thereby putting the lives and safety of fire fighters at needless risk as well as endangering adjoining businesses and jobs."
