Society needs secure and happy children - Kelly
Secure, happy and confident children are the key to the future of our society.
That was the message from Junior Ministers Gerry Kelly MLA and Ian Paisley Jnr MLA as they attended the launch of the NCH growing strong campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the effect a child's emotional wellbeing can have on their life chances.
Gerry Kelly added:
"It is important that every child and young person has the self esteem, resilience and social skills they need to make the most of their future. Disruption in children's lives can make them vulnerable. However with the right support, they can get through difficult times."
Following the launch both Junior Ministers agreed to support the campaign to help prevent children from making harmful choices that can affect their future.
The campaign will also call on the public to take action to help children grow strong by joining their campaign. Postcards will be distributed to the public in Belfast to encourage their support.
