Sinn Féin all-Ireland coordinator appointed to Review Team
Sinn Féin all-Ireland coordinator Sean Oliver is one of two First and deputy First Minister appointments to the Review team looking at the areas of all-Ireland co-operation and implementation bodies.
Former General Secretary Mitchel McLaughlin MLA has welcomed the announcement, he said:
"Sean Oliver has a great deal of expertise in the coordination and development of the all-Ireland agenda and I am confident that he will bring with him the ability to take forward this important job of work.
"In recent days we have had people from all walks of life, including many prominent business leaders argue for greater all-Ireland co-operation and even the amalgamation of the economic development strategies and agencies across the island of Ireland. It will be important that this review team listen to the experts on the issues whether it is on economic development or indeed closer relationships in the delivery of healthcare, or on the issues of agriculture."
Sean Oliver added:
"This is an important role and I want to assure everyone that we will approach the review with the utmost of professionalism and ensure that all of the relevant groups and stakeholders can make their views heard."
