"The future introduction of Green Bins to schools is a welcome development. But as we already know, children are often more conscientious about the environment than adults. Schools in my area, Dublin north east, have successfully participated in an environmental project in recent years - 'Enviro Challenge'.

"I am delighted that this motion has been passed, but in my mind it is just the first step to having this double tax abolished." ENDS.

That this council request the manager to discontinue the imposition of Waste Management charges on schools designated as disadvantaged by the Department of Education & Science. On provision that the schools partake in the Green Flag project - An Taisce.
