Sinn Féin welcomes Acute Hospitals Committee decision to call on Health Minister to cover expenses for women recalled for breast checks
Dublin Sinn Féin Councillor Christy Burke has this afternoon welcomed the Acute Hospitals Committee decision to support his motion calling for travel and medical support to be provided to all women recalled as a result of inaccurate breast tests.
Cllr. Burke said:
“This afternoon during a meeting of the HSE Acute Hospitals Committee held in Kells I tabled a motion calling on the committee to agree to call upon the Minister for Health and Children to cover all expenses, both travel and medical, for all women recalled as a result of inaccurate breast tests.
“It is only right and proper that the HSE provide practical supports to these women during what must be a heart wrenching time of uncertainty for them.
“What has happened to these women is a scandal and an appalling indictment of this governments incompetence in running the country’s health service.
“I welcome today’s decision by the Acute Hospital Committee to support my motion.” CRÍOCH
