Pricewaterhouse Cooper need to engage with Reids workers’ committee to resolve dispute

28 November, 2007

North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has said discussions between Pricewaterhouse Cooper and the Reids workers' committee is key to resolving the dispute at the Cloughmills factory. He was speaking after Pricewaterhouse Cooper released a statement in regard to wage arrears.

Mr McKay said:

"Pricewaterhouse Cooper has said that they have held discussions with stakeholders to bring about an end to the dispute but they have yet to meet with the Committee which the workers here appointed to represent them.

"I spoke with representatives of the workers on the picket line late last night and they agreed that there are a lot of positive commitments in last night's statement from the administrators.

"The key to resolving this dispute now is a meeting between Pricewaterhouse Cooper and the workers' committee. I have put in another request to the Administrator to meet with the committee and I believe that the sooner they engage with the committee the sooner this matter can be resolved." ENDS
