McKay to accompany Reids workers to meeting with Administrators

29 November, 2007

North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay is to accompany representatives of workers who lost their jobs at Reid Transport to a meeting with Pricewaterhouse Cooper today (Thursday). The meeting is being hosted by the Labour Relations Agency.

Mr McKay said:

"Firstly can I welcome the fact that the administrator is now going to meet with the committee which has been elected by the Reids workers. The committee has indicated that there are a number of positive aspects to the statement released by the administrator earlier this week and if all parties approach this meeting in a constructive way then there is no reason why this dispute cannot be resolved.

"The committee is trying to ensure that all employees, who face a serious burden over Christmas, have reasonable recompense for their service to this company. I hope that this meeting will result in a positive outcome for all parties involved." Críoch
