Bomb scares at republican homes in North and West Belfast
Sinn Féin North Belfast MLA Carál Ní Chuilín has confirmed that there were bomb warnings at the homes of Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams and Ardoyne republican Eddie Copeland earlier today.
Ms Ní Chuilín said:
"Late this afternoon the Samaritans received warnings that there were bombs at the homes of Gerry Adams in West Belfast and Ardoyne republican Eddie Copeland.
"The PSNI carried out searches in the vicinity of both homes but no devices were located.
"These so-called republicans have nothing constructive to offer the republican struggle. Their actions only cause disruption to the local community.
"These threats, like those in the past from the British State and their Loyalists surrogates, will not undermine the commitment of republicans to Irish Unity and a just and lasting peace." ENDS
