Reilly welcomes €11m investment in Navan Town Park‏

7 December, 2007

Sinn Fein Cllr Joe Reilly has welcomed the proposals under the Meath Co. Councils Capital Programme 2008 – 2010 to invest €11m in the development of NavanPublicPark.

Cllr. Reilly said:

“The investment of €11m in the new sixty acre NavanTownPark will be welcomed by the people of Navan and Meath. As a growing town it is vital that we secure this space as a green and recreational amenity for the people of the town and for future generation of Navan residents”

“This development of the park will help link the residents of Windtown, An Cluin, Clonmagdden, Tara, Silverlawns, Abbeygrove and other residential areas north of the town with the town centre and will provide a welcome community facility to a part of the town which has little of no social infrastructure”

“Hopefully the development of the new TownPark, the construction of a new hotel, and proposals to build new Co. Council Offices will add impetus to the possible renovation of the old Spicers Mill. These developments will totally transform the river Blackwater and open up the area to the benefit of the people of the town.” Ends
