Shock at death of young child at Armagh School

Armagh City and District Councillors Cathy Rafferty and Noel Sheridan have expressed their shock and sadness at the sudden death of a child at a local school.

Councillor Rafferty said:

"Details of the incident are unclear at the moment, but it seems the seven year old, who was a pupil of St. Patrick's primary school on the Loughgall Road, collapsed and tragically died this morning whilst in class.

"This is heart breaking news for the child's parents and family circle as well as the other children and staff in the school'

Deputy Mayor Noel Sheridan commenting on the death of the young child said,

"The child's family are well known and respected throughout the community and the news of this tragic death has shocked the entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving parents at this trying time. We are also mindful of the distress and shock that the staff and pupils at the primary School are no doubt going through."
