DSD has serious questions to answer over sale-price of Ballymena land
North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has said that the Department of Social Development has serious questions to answer over the handling of the sale of 96 acres of land at Ballee in Ballymena.
Mr McKay said:
"The sale of land at Ballee is one of the biggest ever government land deals and it concerns me greatly that taxpayers' money is being lost as a result of how this deal has been handled.
"It is believed that the land is now to be sold for £50million - an amount which is much less than the market value of the site. If this is the case taxpayers' money is clearly being thrown away.
"The Public Accounts Committee needs to fully investigate this matter and the involvement of DUP members in this, as well as other land deals, needs to be fully clarified." ENDS
