Sinn Féin support Omagh families’ demand for Inquiry

30 January, 2008

Sinn Féin Policing Board member, North Antrim MLA Daithí McKay speaking after the Policing Board met with the families in Omagh today has said that Sinn Féin support the demand for an Independent all-Ireland Inquiry into the Omagh bombing.

Speaking from Omagh Mr McKay said:

"It is almost ten years since the horrific bomb attack in Omagh and people have lost all confidence that the police are ever going to put those responsible for this tragedy behind bars.

"After meeting with the families in Omagh today Sinn Féin again re-iterates its support for the call for the urgent establishment for an Independent all-Ireland Inquiry which can get to the truth about Omagh." ENDS
