Family unhappy with PSNI investigations into assault on young girl
Sinn Féin Armagh Councillor Cathy Rafferty, who is a member of the local District Policing Partnership, has said that the accusations from the family of a young assault victim that the PSNI failed to properly investigate the Thomas Street incident must be dealt with.
Cllr Rafferty said:
"I have been contacted by the family. They are extremely angry as to how they and the young female victim were treated by the PSNI.
"There is a feeling that they were flippantly dismissed by investigating Officers, this despite the fact that the assault victim spent some hours in hospital.
"We as a community fully expect the PSNI to unreservedly investigate incidents in a proper and professional manner. Unfortunately the family and others that I have spoken to are convinced that this did not happen in this case. I will be seeking clarification form the PSNI on a number of issues." ENDS
