Sinn Féin Councillor attends scene of School bus accident

27 February, 2008

Sinn Féin Councillor Sean McGuigan has voiced concern at this morning's accident involving a School bus transporting children to St Mary's Cabragh and St Ciarans High School, Ballygawley.

Councillor McGuigan said:

"First of all I send my best wishes to all of the children who were travelling on the buses but particularly those who have been injured. Like all people I hope that they make a full and speedy recovery.

"The road on which this accident occurred is a notorious black spot which has been the scene of many fatal accidents over the years. The upgrading of the road has recently been started and I hope that when it is completed that it will see the end of these awful scenes of human trauma. In the meantime, while the road works are progressing I would appeal to drivers to be extra careful while travelling on this road." ENDS
