People should not pick up the bill for NI Water management failures

28 February, 2008

Sinn Féin Regional Development Spokesperson Raymond McCartney has said that the public should not be forced to pick up the multi-million pound bill for the miscalculations of the water company, NI Water.

Mr McCartney said:

"There is no way that people should be forced pick up the bill for the mistakes in calculating revenue made by NI Water.

"This whole issue only serves to reinforce the serious concerns Sthat inn Fein has with the management of NI Water.

"Sinn Féin welcomed the 2nd report from the water panel and particularly the recommendations for a major shake up in how NIW is managed and especially the strengthening of the regulatory framework.

"The Assembly Regional Development committee is now dealing with this issues." ENDS
