Regional Development Minister meets Varney Review
Sinn Féin Regional Development Minister, Conor Murphy, met with Sir David Varney today to discuss his review on the Competitiveness of the North of Ireland.
Following the publication of his Review of Tax Policy in the North, David Varney is carrying out a second review to identify policies and incentives for strengthening and sustaining private sector growth, investment and employment.
At the meeting, in the Canal Court Hotel in Newry, the Minister was given the opportunity to present his views on improving regional productivity.
Conor Murphy said:
"I highlighted how roads and public transport are vital for strengthening and sustaining private sector growth, investments and employment. I also discussed how within the context of the north investment in roads, public transport and the improvement of our gateway ports, can provide opportunities for improving economic growth and cross-border access to the south."
