Paint Bomb Attack on South Antrim Sinn Féin Constituency Office disappointing – McLaughlin
Mitchel McLaughlin MLA (South Antrim) has reacted with disappointment after a paint bomb attack on the Sinn Féin Constituency Office in Randalstown in the early hours of Saturday 5th April 2008.
Mr. McLaughlin said, "I am saddened but not surprised, to find that my constituency office has been attacked. In the week that we were planning to formally open this new South Antrim Sinn Féin Constituency office, it is particularly disappointing. This Office is there to serve all of the constituents of South Antrim and therefore it is an attack on the people.
"As we come up to the 10th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement and at a time when all of us are trying to move on, unfortunately there are a small number of people intent on dragging us backwards. They won't succeed. This Office has been serving the constituency for several months now and I would encourage the people of South Antrim to avail of its services.
"This type of anti-community activity is a cancer in our society which can best be resolved by elected representatives being seen to be working together on a constructive and productive basis. By example we will encourage others to move forward into a better future" ENDS
