McLaughlin supports Consumers Council ‘Forgotten Accounts’ campaign

21 April, 2008

Sinn Féin Economy Spokesperson, Mitchel McLaughlin MLA (South Antrim) today backed the Consumer Council's latest campaign to reunite consumers with the money in forgotten bank and building society accounts.

Mitchel McLaughlin MLA said:

"With the cost of living on the increase, now is the time to check if you have money lying around in a forgotten bank account. With spiralling prices on everything from bread to home heating oil none of us can afford to overlook money that could be lying in a forgotten account. We could all do with a bit of extra cash, so I am giving my full support to this important campaign from the Consumer Council.

"Searching for a forgotten account is easy and free. Contact the Consumer Council on 0845 601 6022 or [email protected] or visit www.mylostaccount.org.uk or come to my constituency office at Main Street, Randalstown and pick up a handy guide." ENDS
