Harney must intervene in HSE dispute with psychiatric nurses – Ó Caoláin

Sinn Féin Health Spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has called on the Minister for Health Mary Harney to intervene immediately in the escalating dispute between the HSE and psychiatric nurses.

Speaking in the Dáil today Deputy Ó Caoláin said Minister Harney must ensure that no further services are curtailed or patients adversely affected as a result of the dispute.

He said, "The Minister for Health & Children Mary Harney must intervene immediately in the escalating dispute between the HSE and psychiatric nurses.

"A fair scheme of compensation for nurses injured in the course of their work must be provided with a guarantee of proper levels of staffing in the psychiatric services.

"Minister Harney must also ensure that no further services are curtailed or patients adversely affected as a result of the dispute." ENDS
