Invest NI bureaucracy unacceptable - Mitchel McLaughlin MLA
Sinn Féin Economy Spokesperson, South Antrim MLA Mitchel McLaughlin responding to comments by Crumlin company, Randox Laboratories' Director Peter Fitzgerald that they had chosen Dungloe, Donegal for the creation of 130 jobs because of the "level of bureaucracy within Invest NI" said:
"Sinn Féin has been very critical of Invest NI's track record with regards to targeting financial support and the level of bureaucracy involved in its processing of applications. Peter Fitzgerald's experience does not surprise me.
"I believe that we need to quickly move to a situation where both the economic agencies on this island, the IDA and Invest NI, regularise their procedures to ensure that economic growth is well planned and supported on an equal basis across Ireland.
"In the meantime I would call on the Minister to review the remit and procedures of Invest NI to ensure the minimum of bureaucracy." ENDS
