Sinn Féin to host Stormont coffee morning to raise awareness about ovarian cancer
Sinn Féin West Belfast MLA Sue Ramsey will host a Coffee Morning on Thursday 29th May, at 10.30 am in the Long Gallery at Stormont to raise awareness about ovarian cancer.
There will also be a presentation from the Angels of Hope charity. The charity was founded in May 2003 in memory of Julia Clarke, a 27 year old woman who fought bravely and with dignity only to lose her fight to this horrific disease after 7 short months.
Speaking ahead of the event Ms Ramsey said:
"Ovarian cancer is a serious illness and an under recognised threat to women's health.
"Across Britain and in this part of Ireland 6,800 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year and we have one of the highest incidences of the disease in Europe." ENDS
