Gildernew consults on Evidence and Innovation Plan
Sinn Féin Minister Michelle Gildernew MP, MLA has launched a consultation on the Department of Agriculture and Rural development (DARD) Evidence and Innovation Strategy 2008-13.
Launching the consultation the Minister said:
"My Department wants to see a thriving and sustainable rural economy and environment, one which makes the most of the latest innovative ideas. To achieve this vision, we need sound evidence to ensure our policies and operational activities are the right ones. This new strategy will provide us with a broad framework, to guide our funding of research to support these goals.
"During the drafting of this strategy my officials benefited from discussions with a wide range of stakeholders and the draft strategy includes proposals for future collaboration with relevant organisations. I would encourage all stakeholders to consider the draft Strategy and to let my Department have your views."
