Brady meeting with Trust for update on Daisy Hill investigation

20 June, 2008

Newry and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady has confirmed that he will be meeting with senior Officials from the Southern Health and Social Care Trust on Monday to discuss the investigation into the treatment of more than 300 gynaecology patients at Daisy Hill Hospital.

"There are serious issues of concern in relation to this affair. This whole issue is deeply worrying" said the MLA who confirmed that rumours had been sweeping the Hospital and the area.

We need a full and comprehensive feedback from the investigations as soon as practically possible. Huge numbers of women and their families are presently going through trauma and stress and it is essential that their concerns are answered immediately.

This is the only viable way of ensuring and maintaining the trust of patients and public. Huge numbers of women and their families are presently going through trauma and stress and it is essential that their concerns are answered immediately." ENDS
