"Exercise Brown Cow was designed to test contingency preparations for Foot-and-Mouth disease on a red meat premises. Before this exercise both the DARD Veterinarian and the Food Business Operator worked together to produce a contingency plan for such an event in ABP Lurgan. DARD staff took control of the premises by carrying out gate control procedures, setting up an incident control vehicle and managing the operations within the gate.
