Ó Snodaigh criticises Dublin City Council after Ballyfermot flooding
Dublin South Central Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh has criticised Dublin City Council for failing to deal with flooding problems in the Ballyfermot area. Deputy Ó Snodaigh said as many as thirty families in the Labre Park area are hemmed in by flood waters as high as three foot.
He said, "This particular area of Ballyfermot is well known for flooding problems during times of heavy rain having suffered many times before. It has been brought to the attention of the council time and again yet no action has been taken.
"We now have a situation where as many as thirty families in Labre Park are hemmed in by flood waters that as are high as three foot while the Kylmore road is at a standstill.
"It is completely unfair on both the residents of this area and the motorists that use this road to get to and from work that they should be inconvenienced in this way.
"It is imperative that the council acts to deal with the flooding problems in this particular part of Ballyfermot to avoid instances such as this in the future." ENDS
