22 September, 2008

Sinn Fein's Alex Maskey, MLA for South Belfast, has appealed for information concerning Friday nights attack in the Markets/City Centre area.

Alex Maskey, Sinn Fein MLA for South Belfast, has condemned the vicious and mindless assault in the Markets area on friday night and appealed for information to be brought forward.

Alex Maskey said,

"Firstly, my thoughts are with the man who has been assaulted, and who has been left in a critical condition, in the hospital, by this mindless act. This vicious attack is condemned by the community that resides in the markets and city centre area, and the thugs who carried out this attack must be apprehended and dealt with to the full extent of the law."

"I condemn those who carried out this attack, and appeal to anyone who may have information, to bring it forward to the PSNI, without delay. These people who carried out this attack have nothing positive to contribute to our society and should be apprehended as soon as possible." ENDS
