Sinn Féin weolcomes the purchase of 60 new ambulances
Sinn Féin MLA and health spokesperson Michelle O' Neill has welcomed the announcement by the Health Minister on the purchase scheme for 60 new accident and emergency ambulances over the next three years.
Speaking today Ms O Neill stated:
"Today's announcement by Health Minister that 60 new accident and emergency ambulances are to be bought over the next three years and the pledge that, within a ten years framework, all vehicles should be under five years of age.
"Sinn Fein had called for the purchase of new vehicles to be made a priority and happen as a matter of urgency following the recent breakdowns in the fleet.
"It was Sinn Féin's assertion that ambulances should be kept up to the highest maintainable standard and where there is any doubt about the suitability of the vehicle it should be removed from service and a replacement found. This announcement will go some way to delivering on that." CRÍOCH
