Mc Gill welcomes rural community transport boost for Strabane.

Sinn Fein West Tyrone MLA Claire Mc Gill has paid tribute to the sterling work being done by the Easilift Rural Transport Partnership based in Strabane after having secured the keys to three new minibuses from DRD Transport Minister Conor Murphy last week.

Claire Mc Gill said,

"The three new minibuses secured by Easilift was the highest vehicle allocation awarded to any of the Rural Community Transport Partnerships in the north in this £1.3 million investment by the Department of Regional Development.

"It is clear that Easilift secured this vehicle allocation on the merits of the sterling work that it has been engaged in from its inception in terms of providing high quality transport services for people in our local rural areas and in particular in terms of how it has helped reduce social exclusion and isolation felt by many rural dwellers.

"Easilift has proven itself to be a great success and I trust that this welcome investment will not only ensure the continuation, but also the expansion, of this high quality transport service in the extended area. ENDS
