Brutal Robbery Condemned – Doyle

31 October, 2008

Sinn Féin's Mary Doyle has described those responsible for breaking into a house in the Seaghan Rd area, outside Armagh City as savages.

Cllr. Doyle said,

"At 8.30 last night five masked men burst into a house in Seaghan Rd. Only the woman of the house and her young daughter, who is only in P2 were present. The woman was pinned against the wall in front of her young daughter while the men ransacked the house.

"My party colleague, Darren McNally and I visited the family this morning and they are understandably distressed. The woman who owned the house described how she was in fear of her life and terrified of what those thugs might have done in front of her child.

"The ordeal that this family was put through is utterly deplorable and I would appeal to anyone who may have any information to come forward and contact the PSNI. Whatever information anyone may have will help in preventing these thugs from putting more families through the same trauma that was visited upon this woman and child last night." ENDS
