Local community has lost patience over St Colm's bomb disruption‏

7 November, 2008 - by Jennifer McCann

Sinn Féin MLA for West Belfast Jennifer McCann has stated the local community has lost patience over the bomb hoaxes at St Colm's in Twinbrook. This follows the eighth bomb scare inside three weeks.

Speaking today Ms McCann said:

"This is now the eighth bomb alert at the school in a number of weeks. Those responsible are causing a great deal of disruption to the local community and to the school and its pupils. Next week sees 4th year St Colm's students sitting their first GCSE modules and any further disruption cannot be allowed to occur.

"I am making a direct appeal to those behind the leaving of these devices. If there is an agenda behind it come out and say in the local paper what that agenda it is, if not stop with your sick pranks and let the Summerhill community and St Colms get on with their lives. Everybody in the community is angry and has lost patience.

"This community want to get back to normal and action is needed to end these alerts immediately"
