20 November, 2008

North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has welcomed the completion of road improvement works along the Corkey and Coolkeeran Roads In Loughgiel. The work was carried out at the request of Mr McKay and cost £10,800.

Mr McKay said

"After residents in the Loughgiel area made a number of complaints to myself about road safety issues in the area I made a request to Roads Service to carry out a route study of the Corkey and Coolkeeran Roads in Loughgiel.

"Roads Service agreed to my request and have just completed the work which was to the cost of £10,800. This has included the improvement and replacement of warning signs and lining along the route.

"However there is still a considerable amount of work which needs to be done to improve the state of the roads in the Loughgiel area and we will continue to lobby Roads Service in regard to this." ENDS
