Maskey slams those responsible for dumping grenade near family homes in Andersonstown
Sinn Féin MLA for West Belfast, Paul Maskey, has slammed those responsible for leaving a grenade at Tullymore Walk in the Andersonstown area.
Speaking today Mr Maskey said:
"It beggars belief that someone would leave a grenade in a residential area and it is fortunate that it was found and made safe.
"The green where it was left has children playing on it every day, school children cut a cross it to get to and from school, and it is literally a couple of meters away from family homes.
"The dumping of this device is completely irresponsible. Anyone could have discovered it, including children. Had a child discovered it and started to play with it we could now be dealing with the death of a young person.
"Whoever is responsible for this needs to consider their actions and what they are going to achieve. They have no support from the community and this is a further example that they have not the interest of the community in mind. They only thing they have in mind is their own narrow political goals which have resulted in this grenade being left in the middle of an residential area.
